The Copperhouse is a grade11 listed Geargian Country House built around 1780 Constructed as an administrative centre for the Copper Mines and it is said that the World Copper price was set from here each morning. It also features a huge iron clad Strongroom.
Now granted Mining World Heritage status, the parish of Gwennap was once said to be "the richest couple of square miles in the world." With the decline of Mining in the mid to late 1800's The Copperhouse reverted to a Country House, originally part of the Burncoose Landed Estate with the Chelsea award winning Nurseries adjacent. It now stands in its own secluded grounds surrounded by many species of Camellias and Rhodedendrons.
This idyillic rural position is set vaguely in the centre of a triangle between Truro - Falmouth - Redruth with the beaches of the South Coast 5 miles, the North Coast 8 miles and Lands End 20 miles, making it perhaps one of the best central positions for visiting the whole of Cornwall.
The house will accommodate 14 people + cots with luxury facilities throughout. There are 6 double Bedrooms, 4 large Bathrooms and 2 additional Toilets/Handbasins. All bedding, towels, toiletries are supplied . Full central heating is provided by an oil fired boiler, divided into 8 x zones, each individually controlled There is a private Water supply and pump room, all UV filtered CCTV cameras monitor all external entrances, the drive around the house and the gardens and are lit at night. Besides the security provided, it is especially useful for the safety of children playing in the gardens. Any television in the house (channel 7) will access them. For people with wireless laptops there is internet access connectivety..
